SHE CAME FROM THE NORTH

SHE CAME FROM THE NORTH
WITH HER GENTLE WAYS
SMUGGLING A TREASURE
IN A DAUGHTER'S BOX
HIDDEN IN THE TRUNK

ALONGSIDE IT
A DELICATE NEST
FROM THAT FOREST
OF LAYERED GREENS
THAT HAD EMBRACED HER

                                             TOGETHER
                                         WE TESTED EGGS.
                                            THEN THEY
                                          HEADED WEST.
